CASTING CALL: Disney World Looking For Cast Members to Play Live-Action Ariel
If you have dreams of flipping your fins as Ariel at Walt Disney World theme parks then now may be your chance. Disney has advertised a Casting Call for a look-alike of Ariel in the live-action version of The Little Mermaid which debuts on May 23, 2023.
Online Submissions for the role are being accepted through February 5, 2023.
Disney is looking for a character look-alikes for the role of Ariel as depicted in the upcoming live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid. Performers will be able to bring this character to life at Walt Disney World in Orlando. You’ll meet thousands of guests each day in character greetings, sightings and other experiences across Walt Disney World Resort. Performers sign autographs, pose for photos and help create magical moments for guests of all ages!.
Disney World is looking for candidates between 5’2″ – 5’6 with a warm, engaging and outgoing personality. Candidates must also be at least 18 years of age and be authorized to work in the US.
Ariel is described in the advertisement for the casting call as an “inquisitive and daring mermaid princess.” She is fascinated by the human world and people in general.
How to Audition
Candidates are first requirement to make a submission. Please follow the instructions below:
- Please click “My_Profile” to create or update your performer profile.
- Please click on the “Face_Reading” to review the reading to submit your Disney Auditions profile.
- Please click on the “movement” link to view and learn your audition choreography and animation.
- Film yourself performing the reading and routine – please make sure the video is in landscape, and that you are center stage. Please ensure you have good lighting so we can see you clearly.
- Under the LINKS section, add the link to your video to a sharing site like YouTube or Vimeo – if using YouTube, please mark the video as “unlisted”.
- Please upload current photos of yourself. Please pull long hair back so it is off the face, and only wear light makeup if desired. Form-fitting attire is preferred.
- Make sure photos include:
1 – Direct shot from the waist up, looking into the camera
2 – Full-body shot from the ground up, looking into the camera
3 – Profile shot, from the waist up
Those interested in auditioning for Ariel also need to visit DisneyAuditions Check-In and select “Walt Disney World Online Submissions: Disney Character Look-alikes: Live-Action Ariel.” Take a selfie to complete the process and then you’re all set. PLEASE only one submission. Also be sure to have submissions in by February 5, 2023. Successful candidates will be contacted by Talent Casting if they have been chosen for in-person auditions. Candidates MUST be available for callback.
