CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Journey of Water at EPCOT Continues To Take Shape
Our MickeyBloggers popped onto the monorail at Walt Disney World to give you a bird’s eye view of how construction is coming along on Journey of Water the new Moana-themed attraction coming to EPCOT. Journey of Water is expected to open later this year.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve really seen this project take shape! You can start to see the rock formations being built up.
Once open, the attraction will tack guests along a self-guided outdoor trail.
You can see the lightning fixtures going in along the guided path in these new images.
On the central rock formation, Moana fans may also notice the spiral conch-shell symbol that also featured so prominently in the film.
Once completed, the attraction will allow guests to interact with water as it completes its cycle from the sky to the oceans and back again.
Not only will this attraction be awe-inspiring but it will also be educational!
Guests will learn about the importance of water and discover, just like Moana did on her journey, that this element has a rather playful personality!
Disney hasn’t given us an official opening date as of yet but as soon as we hear more, we’ll let you know!
Though most of the attraction is surrounded by large construction walls, if you look carefully while at the parks, you may be able to make out the figure of Te Fiti from the film.
Te Fiti is the goddess of life and will take center stage when Journey of Water opens!
