Anika Noni Rose, the Voice of Princess Tiana, Marries Jason Dirden

In both Disneyland and Disney World, Splash Mountain is being re-themed to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Eudora’s Chic Boutique store recently opened in Disneyland, and plans to open Tiana’s Palace restaurant in Disneyland were recently revealed. Now it’s time to see what the actress behind the voice of Princess Tiana has been up to!
Anika Noni Rose Just Got Married!
As reported by Brides Magazine, Anika Noni Rose, the iconic voice behind Princess Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, wed Jason Dirden in Los Angeles last October. The couple met as performers in the Broadway cast of A Raisin in the Sun in 2014.

Due to their busy work schedules, the couple had only two months to plan their wedding. Rose, however, still managed to record herself singing “Come Away With Me” by Norah Jones the day before their wedding, which was played during their first dance song.

When it comes to playing Tiana, Rose has said, “It is an amazing legacy to have been the first [Black Disney princess]. I feel like because of how much people still love Tiana, people’s minds were opened towards other things.”
