Our Culinary Tour of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts continues with a stop at El Artista Hambriento near the Mexico Pavilion.
The theme of El Artista Hambriento is a classic Mexican fare including everything from savory Carne Asada to creamy Coconut Flan.
Let’s dive into the menu starting with the Carne Asada.
The Carne Asada at El Artista Hambriento is made with Chipotle-Marinated Beef Sirloin.
This dish is accompanied by a Sweet Potato Puree and Crispy-Friend Onions.
Our MickeyBlogger Kristen said that the Carne Asada was a bit cold for her liking and a bit too chewy.
However, overall it gets a thumbs up for the fact that it was cooked medium rare to perfection.
Next up at El Artista Hambriento is the Huarache de Champiñones.
This treat is made with Guajillo Chile and Corn Masa Huarache.
The treat also comes with Pinto Beans, Oyster Mushrooms, Nopales, Queso Fresco and Pea Tendrils.
Kristen said that this dish was YUM! The mushrooms weren’t overpowering but did give the dish a bit of added saltiness. The beans were great but the star of show was the corn masa which was both crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside!
Next up is a treat for all of you with a sweet tooth! Its El Artista Hambriento’s Flan de Coco.
This delicious dessert is made with Coconut Flan.
The Flan is topped with Guava Sauce.
A bit of Whipped Cream and Toasted Coconut adds the finishing touches.
Our MickeyBlogger Kristen said that the flan as good with a nice caramel flavor. The flavor of coconut definitely comes through in this dessert.
Next lets move on to a couple of the Alcoholic Beverages being served up at El Artista Hambriento.
Kicking things off is the Bombon Margarita “Marshmallow.”
This sweet libation is made with Ilegal Mezcal Reposado, Marshmallow Cordial, Lime Juice, Agave Nectar and a hint of Coffee and Elderflower.
The Bombon Margarita at El Artista Hambriento is topped with Toasted Marshmallows.
Our MickeyBlogger Kristen said that this cocktail was a bit of a mixed bag. It wasn’t overly sweet but had a mild toasted flavor.
We had one more cocktail to try at El Artista Hambriento, the Las Californias.
This drink starts with Tromba Blanco Tequila.
A Strawberry Puree is added.
Rounding things out is Las Californias Citrus Mexican Gin.
Our MickeyBlogger Kristen said that this cocktail was heavy on the booze but was refreshing with some light fruit notes.
