Why You Might Want to Book Your April Disney World Park Passes NOW
In case you missed it, there are some big changes coming soon to Disney World!

Magic Kingdom’s new roller coaster, TRON Lightcycle Run, is now scheduled to open on April 4th, 2023. When it comes to fireworks, on April 3rd the Happily Ever After fireworks show is returning to Magic Kingdom, as is the EPCOT Forever fireworks show in EPCOT. So should you get your park reservations now? Let’s find out!
What are Park Reservations?
The Disney World Park Pass System was introduced back in 2020 in order to control crowds, and the system is still in place today.
In order to enter a Disney Park, you must first make a park reservation AND have valid park admission, whether that be a ticket or an Annual Pass.

The tricky part is that park reservations can and do “sell out,” especially during holidays and peak times of the year, so it’s not a good idea to wait until just before your visit to book your park passes. So what about April 2023?
Ticket Park Reservations
According to Disney World’s Park Reservation calendar as of January 11th, park reservations are still open for ticketholders in all four Disney Parks in April 2023.

That means if you plan to visit Disney World with April theme park tickets, you can currently book any of the four parks throughout the month.
Hotel Park Reservations
For guests staying in select Disney World hotels, park reservations are currently open for all four Disney Parks in April 2023.

Note that this does NOT mean that these park reservations will remain open, and we expect to see Magic Kingdom as well as EPCOT reservations start to fill soon for those early days in April.
Annual Passholder Reservations
According to Disney World’s current calendar, Magic Kingdom Park Reservations are already full on April 4th for both Incredi Pass and Sorcerer Passholders. The Pirate Pass and the Pixie Dust Pass are blocked out from all parks on April 4th.

Basically, if you have any of the four Disney World Annual Passes, you cannot currently make a Magic Kingdom park reservation on April 4th, which is also the opening date of TRON Lightcycle Run.
We recommend watching closely for TRON preview opportunities for Annual Passholders, which could take place prior to April 4th.
