Bob Iger Shares New Requirement for Hybrid Employees
The Walt Disney Company’s CEO has a New Year’s Message for Cast Members. Bob Iger just shared a new requirement for hybrid employees.
Gabriel Hardin posted a portion of Iger’s email today on Twitter. He begins by saying, “working together more in-person will benefit the Company’s creativity, culture, and our employees’ careers.”

New Requirement
He announces that “starting March 1, employees currently working in a hybrid fashion will be asked to spend four days a week on-site.” Iger clarifies that Monday-Thursday will be the targeted in-person workdays.
Referencing the new year, and Disney’s 100th Anniversary, he rallied the team about their exciting future. He adds, “this is a moment of tremendous change” and despite the challenges, he says he remains an “optimist” at his core.

Thus far, responses to the email have been negative. Some have shared that they’re unhappy about the new requirement and that many Cast Members are as well.
Others have expressed sympathy, sharing their own experiences with in-office requirements. One went so far as to call Iger “a prehistoric dinosaur.”

Iger recently replaced Bob Chapek as CEO of The Walt Disney Company. Chapek brought a lot of unwelcome changes when he was at the helm.
Since Iger’s return, fans have been excited about the possibilities. Most want things to get back to the way they were.

It’ll be interesting to see what other new changes will come this year. Iger has already stated that it’s going to take some time to get caught up.
Changes will most likely not be immediate. Unfortunately, this is not the type of change some had in mind, at least from a Cast Member’s point of view.

What do you think of Bob Iger’s new requirement for hybrid employees?
A step forward in my eyes pulling employees back together. Instead of vcomplaining of how Disney is run lets look at the positives
Thank you for sharing, that’s a fair point!
