Is A Bob Gurr Funko Pop on the Horizon?
The term Disney Legend is applied to all kinds of designers and entertainers these days, but there is perhaps no living person more deserving of the title than Bob Gurr.

A Storied Career
Bob was originally hired by WED Enterprises to help create the cars that would eventually be used on the Autopia. Walt Disney was so impressed with Bob’s skill that he became one of the original 18 Imagineers hired by WED Enterprises, whose task it was to design and construct Disneyland.
Over the next several decades Bob Gurr contributed immeasurably to creating the Disney Park as we know it today. He helped create the Main Street Vehicles and Disneyland’s fabled Flying Saucers attraction. He also worked on the Ford Motor Company’s Magic Skyway for the 1964-1965 World’s Fair.

Bob even helped design the mechanics inside Disney’s first Audio-Animatornic human- Abraham Lincoln in Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.
Mr. Gurr is perhaps best remembered for his work on various Disney attraction vehicles. From the Haunted Mansion’s Doom Buggies, to the Disneyland Monorail, the Submarine Voyage Nautilus and the Matterhorn Bobsleds, the Disney dark ride attraction as we know it is largely due to the work of Bob Gurr.

Even the Omnivore system that permeates all of Disney’s theme parks would not have existed with him.
While Bob has been given numerous honors through his storied career, including becoming a Disney Legend in 2004, it looks as if a new honor may be on the horizon.

While we don’t have any official details about the Funko POP yet, MickeyBlog will be sure to pass along any forthcoming news.
I for one can’t wait to see this Bob Gurr Funko come to fruition. Wouldn’t it be amazing if this led a series of Walt Disney Imagineering Funkos. I’m so excited!
