Tokyo Disney Resort Officially Bans Reselling of Merchandise
It finally happened; a Disney Park is paving the way for much-needed change. Tokyo Disney Resort has officially banned the reselling of merchandise.
Reselling of Merchandise
Disney fans lie in one of two camps when it comes to the hot-button topic of merchandise reselling. Some see nothing wrong with the activity and even contribute to it.

Hoarding goods from the Parks, they stock up on multiples of as many popular products as possible, in order to make a profit. While some claim they do this to bring Disney magic to those who cannot visit in person, others don’t view the practice in such a positive light.
I am admittedly one of those people. To me, it is incredibly frustrating, and many Disney Guests feel the same.
Swiping items from the Parks before others have the chance to purchase or even see them, does not sit well with me. That being said, I’ve often wondered if and when Disney would bite the bullet to appropriately address the inconsiderate behavior.
Tokyo Disney Resort
Well, Tokyo Disney Resort has decided to take action. On its official website, in the “Theme Park Terms and Conditions” section, under “Prohibited Act,” it clearly states, “Customers shall not engage in any of the following acts when using the Park.”

It goes on to say, “In addition, the violation of this paragraph shall be reasonably determined by the Company based on reasonable grounds.” Under this heading, it now lists, “Purchasing products or souvenirs for the purpose of resale” as prohibited.
Recently, in a Tweet from TDR Update, the news became public. Guidelines will be enforced in a few days.

The post reads, “TDR Official Website – We have established the ‘Theme Park Usage Agreement’ that summarizes the rules and precautions for using the park. It will be applied from December 21, 2022 (Wednesday).”
I don’t know about you, but I, for one, am glad to see a Disney Park finally take necessary action against this! Hopefully, Tokyo Disney Resort will pave the way for others to follow suit, banning the reselling of merchandise.
