Orlando International Airport Braces for Holiday Travel!

Are you traveling through MCO this week? Get ready and be prepared.

Orlando International Airport braces for holiday travel and has some travel recommendations for a smoother travel experience.

The holiday travel season is officially underway and airport officials are expecting nearly three million people to pass through the airport over the next couple of weeks. 

The 19-day travel period is expected to rival pre-pandemic holiday seasons.

Busy Travel Season

Airport officials expect approximately 158,000 travelers to pass through today making it this the eighth busiest day of the holiday travel season.

The busiest day is expected to be January 2nd with over 162,000 people traveling through the airport. MCO also experienced record-breaking travel over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Orlando International Airport officials are preparing for the rush and have learnt from previous challenges they experienced during the Thanksgiving holiday travel season.

The biggest tip for travelers this holiday season? Airport officials are telling everyone to come up to 3 hours early due to potential long lines and packed airport parking.

Airport parking is $20/ day (depending on where you park).  Another great tip? Based on your travel needs, consider using Uber or Lyft to get in and out quickly.
