The Wait is Over: DuckTales World Showcase Adventure Opening This Week
We’ve got some exciting news for fans of Donald, Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey and Louie and the rest of the DuckTales gang. It’s been three years since Disney first announced that a DuckTales-themed scavenger hunt called DuckTales World Showcase Adventure was announced to replace the previous Phineas and Ferb-themed offering and NOW we finally have an opening date! Not only that, but its this week!
We can officially confirm that the DuckTales World Showcase Adventure is opening on EPCOT on Friday, December 16th. We found out about the exciting news from @ScottGustin who revealed that the information has been updated on the Play Disney Parks App. For those unfamiliar, the app will be required in order for EPCOT visitors to take advantage of this awesome and engaging way to explore the World Showcase.

As Disney previously reported, DuckTales World Showcase Adventure will invite guests to join Scrooge McDuck, Donald, Huey, Dewey and Louie, Launchpad and Webby as the search for a priceless treasure. Guests will use the Play Disney Parks app to take a trip around World Showcase discovering exotic destinations, exciting mysteries, and maybe even a few thieves, villains and supernatural guardians of ancient artifacts.
As you can see below, there is now a landing page with more information about the DuckTales World Showcase Adventure on the Play Disney Parks app. It looks like there are “7 Plunders of the World” that guests will need to be on the lookout for!
The seven World Showcase countries that are part of the DuckTales scavenger hunt are as follows:
- Mexico
- Norway
- China
- Germany
- Japan
- France
- United Kingdom.
Similar to the Phineas and Ferb Scavenger Hunt that was previously at EPCOT, each adventure sends guests to a specific World Showcase pavilion where there are three clues you must solve to find the plundered objects. Each mission is designed to take about a half and hour=.
We expect further scavenger hunt details to be released this week. Readers are encouraged to keep following along with us for further news and updates.
