Gaston’s Chair Returns to Rightful Place in Gaston’s Tavern
I am just going to throw this out there- Gaston’s Tavern is one of my favorite places in the Magic Kingdom. While the nearby, Be Our Guest restaurant gets all the attention, Gaston’s Tavern is the real treasure of New Fantasyland.
In fact, often times the quick service restaurant is my first stop when visiting the Magic Kingdom, as there is no better way to start your day than with a delicious warm cinnamon roll!

In addition to great food, Gaston’s Tavern is also impeccably themed. Its provincial hunting lodge decor, and movie-specific decorations will make you feel as if you are walking in the world of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. In addition to this, the instrumental score that plays in the restaurant is truly magical!
While many people will point out the famed antler chandeliers that adorn the ceiling, or the manly portrait of Gaston that sits above the fireplace, one prop that I always look for is Gaston’s chair.
The animal pelt covered seat, is the perfect throne for Gaston to view his little kingdom from. Unfortunately, the chair has recently been missing. With no reason given for the chair’s departure, many fans were wondering if it would ever return.
Well good new! Today when visiting Gaston’s Tavern we found that the egotistical hunter’s chair has returned!
With his various trophy heads looking down on it, Gaston’s chair is finally back where it belongs.
Next time you visit Fantasyland, be sure to visit Gaston’s Tavern. The atmosphere and attention to detail in the eatery are unmatched. While you are there, don’t forget to get a cinnamon roll for me!
