Japan Holiday Storyteller Tells the Story of ‘O-Shogatsu’ in Epcot!
The Epcot Festival of the Holidays officially opens for the 2022 season today! With food booths serving both new and old favorites, a cookie stroll featuring a 2022 twist, and the return of the Candlelight Processional, this year’s Festival is not one to miss!
The Holiday storytellers in each Pavilion have become a staple tradition of the Festival of the Holidays, and we are pleased to report that the storytelling is as festive and energetic as ever!
We caught the Japan storyteller as she recounts the historic Japanese traditions and sayings that coincide with the arrival of O-Shogatsu- Japanese for ‘New Year’.
Through the storyteller, guests will learn about the food and cultural traditions- including the good-luck Daruma doll- that play such huge roles in the New Year traditions in Japan.
