New Holiday Light Show for Spaceship Earth
News about this year’s International Festival of the Holidays was released today. Hence, Disney announced a new holiday light show for Spaceship Earth among all the information. Therefore, I know many Guests look forward to the beautiful display coming in just a few short days.
Festival Information
So, EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays begins on November 25, 2022, which is the day after Thanksgiving. Also, it continues until December 30, 2022. Spaceship Earth will light up in holiday delight during the festival, amazing everyone within sight.
Spaceship Earth Lights
The World’s Most Magical Celebration (the celebration for Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary) began on October 1, 2021. Therefore, Imagineers covered Spaceship Earth in beautiful lights (officially known as the Beacons of Magic), and those lights change depending on various celebrations or seasons.
So, the Christmas season is definitely something to celebrate. Brooke Geiger McDonald tweeted about the new light show. According to Disney, the show “will invoke some of the sights of winter, including snowflakes, northern lights, and warm candles.”

Instantly, my imagination starts turning. I see beautiful white whisps shimmering around Spaceship Earth while snow falls, as well. Or, gorgeous colors of blues, purples, and greens…simulating those colors seen in the north. Then, warm hues of gold represent gorgeous candles glowing for the holidays.

Of course, some of the pictures Disney revealed give us a preview of the Spaceship Earth holiday lights. However, I know Disney did not provide a sneak peek at everything planned for the light show. I, for one, am very excited to see it!
No doubt, we will be in awe at the spectacle. The lights on Spaceship Earth have been a fan favorite since its debut, so the show will not disappoint.
