New Talking Pirate Bank Sails into Plaza del Sol
A brand new Pirates of the Caribbean souvenir has sailed into Plaza del Sol in Adventureland today.
This new spooky pirate-skull coin bank is the perfect place for young pirates to stash their treasure.
When buccaneers put their gold into the coin bank the jolly roger skull comes to life and begins talking!
A Classic Character
The bank resembles the iconic talking skull and crossbones that is featured in Pirates of the Caribbean. Up until its removal in 2006, the ghastly skull would warn guests of the upcoming drop, before the Pirates of the Caribbean boats plunged down into the pirate ship battle scene.
In 2017, the skull and crossbones made its triumphant return to the attraction when the figure was re-added to its former location.
At this time, the skull was integrated into Disney’s Photopass. Now, when the skull begins to warn guests, the attraction’s in ride photo is taken.
A Talking Skull?
While this specific version of the pirate skull seems to more closely resemble the Disneyland version of the character, it is still a great way to remember your trip to Walt Disney World.
When a coin is put in the bank (or you hit the button), the ghastly head’s eyes turn red. The skull then gives a warning, saying “Mark well me words, matey, dead men tell no tales.”
This new bank is the perfect gift for any pirate loving youngster in your life. It is available just outside of Pirates of the Caribbean for $29.99 today!
