New Holiday Greetings Add to Interactive Fab 50 Statues’ Surprises
Since the debut of MagicBand+ earlier this summer, one of the highlights of the new technology continues to be their interactive features coordinated with the playDisney app. One of those games, the Disney Fab 50 Quest, brings to life the exquisite golden statues that celebrate Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary.
In order to play, guests approach each Fab 50 statue and wave their hand in front of the character(s) while logged into the playDisney app. Then, the statue plays a unique sound to acknowledge that the guests have found the given character in the online scavenger hunt.

In the fall, many of the statues at Magic Kingdom specfiically surprised guests with messages fit for the spooky season. Over the course of the last couple weeks though, many switched over to holiday greetings as the parks transitioned to their Christmas overlays.
“Holiday magic activate! Disney Fab 50 character sculptures and MagicBand+ are getting a sprinkle of festive sounds and designs just in time for the holidays at Walt Disney World,” cheered Disney Parks today in a Tweet introducing the special surprise.
Not only does the Fab 50 Quest provide ample fun finding the statues, but the game also provides a number of interactive features for guests even after they have discovered the statues.

Remember, to engage with the Fab 50 statues, guests must both be logged into the playDisney experience app and have a MagicBand+ synced to the account being used. Guest Experience team members in any of the theme parks can help if guests experience a glitch while playing, including an unexpectedly uncharged MagicBand+ (clearly, speaking for a friend).
