BREAKING: Annual Pass Price Increase Announced for Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World announced today that the price of an Annual Pass for the resort will be increasing.
The news was reveled at the same time that Disney announced they would also be implementing park specific pricing for one-day tickets.
Although most new Annual Pass sales remained paused, when they resume, there will be a price increase.
Disney has stated the new price increase will go into effect on December 8th, but has not yet announced when fans can purchase new Annual Passes.
For those of you who are looking forward to buying an Annual Pass, here are the announced prices (from Scott Gustin):
Incredi-Pass: $1399 (was $1299)
Sorcerer Pass: $969 (was $899)
Pirate Pass: $749 (was $699)
Pixie Pass: $399 (no change)
As a reminder, the Pixie Pass (which saw no price increase) is exclusive to Florida residents. The pass also only allows entrance on weekdays.
At this time, Disney is still allowing renewals of Annual Passes. Unfortunately, a price change for renewing has yet to be announced. We will update you if any news breaks on this front.
The latest slew of price increases, comes just days after the company announced a large wave of layoffs and a related hiring freeze. In a memo released to employees, Disney CEO Bob Chapek stated:
“I am fully aware this will be a difficult process for many of you and your teams. We are going to have to make tough and uncomfortable decisions. But that is just what leadership requires, and I thank you in advance for stepping up during this important time.”
While there may not be any correlation between today’s price increases and the recent layoffs, it has been a tough week for Disney fans.
