Cross Country Creek is Looking Festive for the Reopening of Disney’s Blizzard Beach!
I’m sure you’ve all heard the news by now – Disney’s Blizzard Beach has finally reopened to guests!
Of course, your MickeyBlog reporters have been there today to report on all the excitement, and boy the park sure is a wintery waterpark wonderland right now!
From festive new flavors to new Frozen-inspired areas, the park sure is feeling like the holidays. Even Santa was spotted wandering around the park, looking very vacation-ready!
But, perhaps my favorite holiday-themed surprise of the reopening so far comes from over at Cross Country Creek – Blizzard Beach’s own lazy river attraction.
This 3,000 foot-long, slow-moving stream of polar-themed tranquillity is always a must-do for many of us on our Blizzard Beach visits.
After all, what better way to kick back and enjoy a vacation than in one of those big, donut-shaped tube floats?
So, you can imagine our happiness when we spotted some especially festive new tubes, floating merrily around Cross Country Creek this morning.
Big, bright green, and sporting huge red “ribbons” – you sure can’t miss these amazing new Christmas wreath floats!
Yep, guests can now enjoy a route around the lazy river atop a float shaped just like a holiday wreath – complete with a giant inflatable bow and holly sprig graphics that look just like Hidden Mickeys.
Forget those regular blue tubes – it’s these festive green ones we’re going to be grabbing this holiday season!
As you can expect with a lazy river, these fun tubes can be spotted floating around the park, so you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled if you’re hoping to snag a ride in one on your next visit to the creek.
This news kind of takes me back to the summertime H2O Glow Nights at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, where Castaway Creek lazy river is filled with funky floats in the shape of Disney characters, glitter tubes, and more. These fun additions always go down well with guests, with everyone wanting a turn in the coolest float they could find!
Of course, the lazy river is still filled with the regular, non-festive blue tubes.
They aren’t as magical, but still a cool and comfy way of getting around the creek!
Other “floats of note” that can be found in the lazy river include:
- The “Double-Donut” – a tube for two
- The “Half Donut” tube – a more accessible (not to mention very comfortable) tube that you can sit in like a chair
- The “Baby Donut” – a filled-in float for smaller guests, to enable them to sit in the donut without falling through the hole.
(And why yes, technical descriptions of lazy river apparatus is a specialty of mine!)
So, if you’re headed to Disney’s Blizzard Beach this holiday season, be sure to catch a merry float along the Cross Country Creek lazy river.
Plus, be sure to watch out for other festive experiences in the park for the holidays – Blizzard Beach may always be a winter wonderland, but it’s feeling especially Christmassy at the moment!
