This Day in Disney History: November 12
Welcome back to another trip through the magical world of Disney history! Today we are looking at the events that occurred on this day in Disney History- November 12.
On this day, we have a huge comeback for the Muppets, the loss of an entertainment legend and the launching of a major Disney service. Let’s get going!
Two Mickey Shorts Released (1932)
On this day in 1932, the Mickey Mouse cartoons The Klondike Kid and The Wayward Canary were released.
In The Wayward Canary, Mickey buys a canary to give to Minnie, but he doesn’t realize that their are chicks in her cage. Chaos insures when the birds get out, and Mickey has to protect them from an old cat.

Also released on this day. The Klondike Kid on the other hand, was inspired by the Charlie Chaplin film “The Gold Rush”. In this short, Pete kidnaps Minnie, resulting in a war to free her.
The Three Musketeers Debuts (1993)
On this day in 1993, The Three Musketeers was released.

Starring Charlie Sheen, Keifer Sutherland, Tim Curry and Rebecaa de Mornay, the film is an adaptation of Alexander Dumas’ classic adventure tale.
Although critics panned the film, the Three Musketeers would still go on to be fairly successful at the box office.
The Muppet’s Premiers (2011
On this day in 2011, the world premiere of The Muppets took place.

The first Muppets theatrical release in twelve years, the film tells the story of a young, avid, Muppet fan named Walter, who attempts to reunite the disbanned Muppets.
Starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams, The Muppets would go to be both commercial and critical success, and help to revitalize the Muppet franchise.

Three years later, a sequel to the film, titled Muppets Most Wanted, would be released in 2014.
Disney Legend Stan Lee Passes Away (2018)
On this day in 2018, comic book publisher Stan Lee passed away at age 95.

Lee would best be remembered as the was the primary creative leader of Marvel comics for two decades. Lee would also be responsible for crating some of the world’s most famous superheroes including.
These include, Spider Man, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, the Fantastic Four and the X-men.
Disney Plus Launches (2019)
Finally, on this day in 2019, Disney Plus launched in the United States and Canada.
Disney’s exclusive streaming service, Disney Plus is the official home to the entire Disney catalogue. Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic content was all released on Disney Plus.
