WATCH: Idina Menzel Shares First Look at “Which Way to the Stage?”
Idina Menzel debuted a first look at her new documentary “Which Way to the Stage?, today when she shared the upcoming film’s new trailer.
Set to debut on December 9, exclusively on Disney +, the film will tell the inspirational story of Menzel’s life, culminating with the fulfillment of her lifelong dream- headlining a concert at Madison Square Garden.

The upcoming documentary will feature never-before seen performances, raw interviews, and behind the scenes footage to tell the story of Menzel’s life and career.
It starts when a young Menzel takes up singing at age seven, and continues through today. It will also follow the singer as she embarks on a 17 city tour, and attempts to jungle her personal life, with her grueling work schedule.
Menzel is best known for her performances in the Broadway hits “Rent” and “Wicked” (where she originated the role of Elphaba), as well as her iconic performance as Elsa in Disney’s Frozen series.

In addition to celebrating the Tony Award winner’s stunning high points, the documentary will also pull the curtain back and share some of the professional setbacks and personal struggles that the actress/singer has gone through.

According to the documentaries description, the film will:
Reflect on motherhood, marriage and the realities of juggling work and family. Throughout the film, she shares her personal experience with in vitro fertilization, an emotional process that runs parallel to her runway toward Madison Square Garden.
Directed by Anne McCabe, the documentary will premiere this Sunday, November 13 at the DOC NYC Festival.
In conjunction with the new trailer, Disney also released the first poster for Which Way to the Stage? and it is gorgeous!
