REVIEW: New Gargantuan Grizzly Bear Claw at Roaring Fork
Roaring Fork recently updated their entire menu, and we couldn’t wait to mosey on over to Wilderness Lodge to try some of the new items for ourselves!
When I entered the quick serve location, my eyes- and nose- immediately pulled me towards their hot pastry section…and what resulted was the LARGEST grizzly bear claw I’ve ever seen!
Grizzly Bear Claw
The massive grizzly bear claws are kept in a pastry warmer and are available for self-serving. It was late afternoon when I visited, and while I was thrilled that the bear claws hadn’t sold out for the day, I was worried that it would be dry after sitting under the heat lamp all day.
After lifting the gargantuan treat onto a plate (a workout in and of itself) I made my way to a table and sliced into the deliciousness. The pastry was so soft, that I really could have used my fork to cut through the layers.

The slightly sweet pastry dough reminded me of a cinnamon roll in texture and consistency. The unbelievable cinnamon/ sugar layer is what made this treat a true stand-out among Disney pastries. The nuts and golden raisins mixed throughout the cinnamon and sugar layer provided a subtle textural change that further highlighted the softness of the pastry dough.
The gooey softness the cinnamon layer provided ensured that the bear claw didn’t need a frosting, but the light drizzle of icing helped add to the overall sweetness.
We highly recommend grabbing this treat the next time you’re at Wilderness Lodge!
