VIDEO: Arribas Brothers Celebrates 50 Years at Walt Disney World
The Arribas Bros shops at Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs are a national treasure. That’s why we’re so excited to celebrate 50 magical years of glass-blowing magic. If you’ve never been into the Arribas Bros shop then make it a must-do during your next visit. You’ll find an eclectic array of themed collectibles many of them made from incredible glass artists.
For those unfamiliar Miguel Arribas is originally from Montevideo, Uruguay and is actually one of the longest-service team members at the Walt Disney World Arribas Brothers locations. You can see Miguel showing off his glassblowing kills in the video below where he creates the extraordinary pieces you’ll see at Arribas Bros shops each day.
“The best part of working at Walt Disney World is the guests. Our guests come from all over the world, but it’s always a special moment when they see my nametag and see I’m from Montevideo, Uruguay. It makes me feel proud,” said Arribas.
Disney first discovered the Arribas Brothers at the 1964-1965 World’s Fair and were invited to open their first shop at Disneyland in 1967.
For those visiting Disney World in the near future, be on the lookout for Arribas who you may still find hard at work creating eye-catching glass works of art.
