‘Coco’ Home, Pet Merch Pops With Personality, Vibrant Color
With Dia de los Muertos just a couple of weeks away, a new line of “Coco”-themed housewares as well as a new pet toy seemed perfectly timed in its debut today. On a trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom this morning, we spotted the new collection at Discovery Trading.
Marigolds dominate the designs for both the kitchen options as well as decorative throw pillows. Artistic skulls also appear on all of the merchandise as well as musical notes and instruments in a nod to the central role that music plays in the Pixar film.
The $39.99 oven mit and towel set play with varying shades of oranges juxtaposed with black and white details, including the devlish appearance of the film’s crooning villain, Ernesto de la Cruz.
Many of the film’s other beloved characters also appear on the hand towel, including Dante in his alebrije form, Miguel, Hector, and Mama Imelda with her alebrije, Pepita.
“Coco” Throw Pillow Captures Marigold Magic
Similar to the oven mit, a new throw pillow also hit shelves today that fully embraces the marigold symbol widely used in film.
With an ultra soft top, the pillow subtly plays with designs from “Coco” underneath the blooming petals. The details in the fabric truly capture the importance of Miguel’s incredible journey through the Land of the Dead.
The puffy, rounded throw pillow retails for $34.99.
Tray Ties Film with Holiday Traditions
A sturdy wooden decorative tray also joined the “Coco” collection today. The design plays not only with the bright shades associated with the Pixar masterpiece but also black details too for a clever twist.
Not only does the tray burst with musical energy, but it also includes one of the movie’s most motivating lines: “Seize your moment!”
They tray appears to be ready to distribute outside of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, based on detailing etched underneath. In the parks, it retails for $49.99.
Dante Inspires Option for Dogs
The “Coco” collection made sure to include a new offering in the Disney Tails line with a trio of toys fit for anyone’s canine sidekick. The set retails for $24.99.
One of the figural toys even comes shaped like a shoe in a nod to the Rivera family’s long-history with shoe-making.
