Disney Pushes Back Release Dates of Multiple Marvel Movies
After much hype, fans will be sad to learn that some highly anticipated films are being postponed. Unfortunately, Disney is pushing back the release dates of multiple Marvel movies.
Blade
Yesterday, the Hollywood Reporter announced that production of the upcoming Marvel film, Blade would be temporarily paused. Marvel is searching for a new director since Bassam Tariq will no longer be part of the project due to scheduling conflicts.
Marvel Studios is going to take some extra time to sharpen its #Blade feature project.

Blade is a comic book character with unique physiology. His story differs greatly from other Marvel movies being that he’s a vampire hunter.
Beau DeMayois is the main screenwriter for Blade. The writer worked on the popular Disney+ series Moon Knight, which was released in March to rave reviews.

The vampire adventure thriller will star Academy Award winner, Mahershala Ali. Originally set to premiere on Nov. 3, 2023, Reuters shares the movie has been pushed back to Sept. 6, 2024.
Other Upcoming Marvel Movies
Other movies that are being postponed include Deadpool 3, Fantastic Four, and Avengers: Secret Wars, the sixth sequel in the franchise. Deadpool 3 will be pushed back two months premiering on Nov. 8, 2024, rather than Sept. 6, 2024.
Fantastic Four will also be pushed a few months back from Nov. 8, 2024, to Feb. 14, 2025. Avengers: Secret Wars will suffer a six-month delay, now set to premiere on May 1, 2026, instead of Nov. 7, 2025.
A couple of untitled Marvel projects have also seen changes. One moved from Feb. 14, 2025, to Nov. 7, 2025, while the other, scheduled for May 1, 2026, is not even on Disney’s release schedule anymore.

Apparently, Disney is pushing back the films for good reason. A Blade source shared, “They want to get it right,” and getting it right entails delays.
Marvel movies are known for the way their stories tie into each other. This explains why a postponement of one film causes the postponement of another.

In the past, films such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness experienced delays, leading to the delay of movies, Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Marvel fans needn’t fear. This is indeed just a delay! Disney is only pushing back the release dates of upcoming Marvel movies. I suspect it will be worth the wait!
