Hocus Pocus 2 Snatches No. 1 Spot on Disney+
The Sanderson Sisters came back seeking revenge and they did just that! Hocus Pocus 2 became Disney+’s biggest debut so far.
Last Friday, many people (myself included) were anxiously awaiting to hit play after almost 30 years of waiting for a sequel to the original Hocus Pocus.

And let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed! We have a running joke in my family… if I cry during a Disney movie, it scores high on our list. Tears were shed at the end of Hocus Pocus 2. There, I said it. I am a sucker for Disney Movies.

Before the movie came out I was a little bummed that most of the filming took place in Rhode Island instead of Salem, Massachusetts. I was worried that that they would not be able to pull this off without the iconic town, but boy was I wrong.
When the back story on the Sanderson Sisters started, I was hooked. Taylor Henderson who plays a young Winifred absolutely nailed the role. She was the perfect spit fire who also had an immense amount of love for her sisters.

Without parents, Winifred had to take on the role as caregiver for her two sisters. Let’s face it, siblings can be annoying at times but the love Winifred had for Sarah and Mary was unwavering.
Like most Disney Villains, I came to care for and respect the Sanderson Sisters. Should they eat young children to stay young? No. But I do feel that their intentions were misunderstood in the long run.

What’s Next for the Sanderson Sisters?
Bette Midler recently sat down with People Magazine to discuss the sequel. The main actresses: Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy were always on board for a sequel.. it just took the powers that be awhile to come to their senses.

Fans are so excited that they did come to their senses, even if it was 29 years later. In fact, Midler, Parker and Najimy had such a blast fixing the sequel that Midler is already starting rumors about a 3rd film.

And, we know it is a possibility since Gilbert lied about how many black candles he made.
“I hitch my wagon to her star. If she wants to do a third one… No one says no to the Devine Miss M.” said Sarah Jessica Parker in a recent interview with People Magazine.

After seeing the sequel and, dare I say, loving it more than the original… I would definitely be on board to see where the next chapter takes the Sanderson Sisters and the new young coven of Salem!
