Disneyland Wait Times for October 2022
Walt Disney World has just finished September by weathering a literal storm.
While Hurricane Ian will cause ripple effects at the parks for weeks to come, Disneyland has enjoyed a calm month.

In fact, as we’re about to see, one of the parks brought back one of the most beloved (temporary) Disney attractions in the world.
Let’s talk about Disneyland’s wait times for October 2022.

As a reminder, we call this the October update, but it covers Disneyland wait times for the previous month, September.

On September 2nd, Haunted Mansion Holiday reopened at the park. This moment has become a seminal part of the Disneyland annual calendar.
Locals count down the days until September arrives and brings with it the return of Jack Skellington.

The Oogie Boogie Bash has also returned. It’s a wildly popular Halloween event.
So, September is a weird time to evaluate the Happiest Place on Earth. Theoretically, it’s the off-season, the time between summer and the end-of-year rush.
However, locals comprise the majority of park guests at Disneyland, and they loooove Haunted Mansion Holiday.

For this reason, this month’s wait times should be fascinating.
Average Waits at Disneyland Park
Okay, here are the average waits at Disneyland Park:
- Splash Mountain – 62 minutes, down 12
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – 58 minutes, down 22
- Haunted Mansion Holiday – 53 minutes, up 13
- Space Mountain – 47 minutes, down 18
- Indiana Jones Adventure – 46 minutes, down 14
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – 43 minutes, down 14
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – 39 minutes, down 6
- Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage – 37 minutes, down 24
- Peter Pan’s Flight – 35 minutes, down 3

Overall, guests waited for an average of 27 minutes for Disneyland attractions.
Disney California Adventure
We have focused on two alphas at Disney California Adventure (DCA) for the past several months.

However, another factor comes into play this month, and it’s akin to Haunted Mansion Holiday.
September also brings the return of Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark. And Disney fans were all over this one.
Guests waited an average of 80 minutes to experience the holiday overlay. That’s a massive increase of 28 minutes or 53 percent.

The best way to describe this increase is by contrasting it with what is ordinarily the most popular ride at the park.
Guests waited an average of 78 minutes for Radiator Springs Racers, which is 20 minutes less than last time!
As you’re about to see, most of DCA experienced significant drops in line time. Meanwhile, the Guardians of the Galaxy holiday overlay spiked its popularity.

Stating the obvious, Disney should make more seasonal ride overlays. Fans want them, and they’re not that hard to do. So make it a thing, Disney!

Here are the wait times for everything else at Disney California Adventure:

- Soarin’ Around the World – 42 minutes, down 15
- WEBSLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure – 41 minutes, down 17
- Grizzly River Run – 39 minutes, down 14
- Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! – 35 minutes, down 9
- Goofy’s Sky School – 29 minutes, down 16
- The Incredicoaster – 29 minutes, down 14
- Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween – 25 minutes, no change
- The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure – 20 minutes, up 2
- Pixar Pal-A-Round – 19 minutes, down 18
- Mater’s Graveyard Jam-Boo-ree – 17 minutes, no change
- Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind – 16 minutes, down 7
- Golden Zephyr – 10 minutes, down 1

Overall, guests waited for an average of 26 minutes for DCA attractions. That’s a drop of 13 minutes.
The other point I’ll make here involves the two attractions whose wait times remained the same.

Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween and Mater’s Graveyard Jam-Boo-ree ostensibly should have dropped as much as everything else at this park.
Instead, they help their August crowd size throughout September as well. That’s further proof of the potent appeal of holiday overlays.
Disney, I’m begging here!
