Disney+ Scores With ‘The Mighty Ducks Game Changers’ Season 2
For many Disney fans, a certain hockey-themed movie remains a nostalgic part of their childhood. A television series premiered last year as a sequel to The Mighty Ducks, and now Disney+ scores with The Mighty Ducks Game Changers Season 2!
Fans celebrated Disney+ Day earlier this month, with September producing loads of new content for Disney’s streaming platform. Pinocchio recently premiered in live-action form, and Hocus Pocus 2 debuted today, September 30.
Nostalgic movies and remakes seem to be extremely popular with fans lately, and Disney is taking advantage of it! Seeing familiar, beloved characters from yesteryear brings many a sense of comfort.
The Mighty Ducks
The Mighty Ducks came out 30 years ago. Emilio Estevez starred as a wealthy attorney who received the community service assignment of his life, much to his dismay at first.
Charged with coaching a ragtag group of unsuccessful pee wee hockey players, his position transformed him from an uncaring businessman to a benevolent mentor. Disney+ debuted The Mighty Ducks Game Changers Season 1 in March last year.
The Mighty Ducks Game Changers Season 2
Although the cast originally included Emilio Estevez, his character has been replaced by actor Josh Duhamel this season. Reportedly, a contract dispute rendered the actor unable to reprise his role.
Lauren Graham returns to play Alex Morrow. The heart of the movie continues with Season 2 premiering on Disney+ on September 28. Disney describes the plot,
After winning back the Mighty Ducks team name last year, our squad-with-heart and their coach Alex Morrow (Lauren Graham) take to the road to attend an intense summer hockey institute in California run by charming yet hardcore former NHL player, Colin Cole (Josh Duhamel).
It’s a place for kids to get excellent at hockey — without school to get in the way. As our Ducks try to survive in this super-competitive environment, they’re faced with the question: Can you win summer?
