Disney Cruise Line Monitoring Hurricane Ian for Potential Changes to Disney Fantasy’s Itinerary
As we continue to follow Hurricane Ian closely here at MickeyBlog, Disney Cruise Line has announced that due to the impending storm, changes to the itinerary of the Disney Fantasy might be on the horizon.
With so much uncertainty around Hurricane Ian, Disney Cruise Line advised travel advisors like myself today that the Fantasy might not be able to return to Port Canaveral, Florida until later in the day on Saturday, October 1. Port Canaveral is currently closed and it’s unknown when it will be able to reopen and welcome ships once again.
The Disney Fantasy departed Port Canaveral this past Saturday, September 24 on a 7-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise. It was scheduled to return to Port Canaveral Saturday, October 1 at 7:30 am.
With this potential change, those who are set to cruise on the Fantasy’s next sailing on October 1, 2022 might have their embarkation delayed if the ship is not able to return to port later in the day. If this does happen, Travel Advisors and Guests on this sailing will be contacted.

The Disney Fantasy isn’t the only Disney Cruise Line ship that is being impacted by Hurricane Ian. The Disney Wish will be returning to Port Canaveral also later than planned. It was scheduled to return from its current four night voyage this Friday, September 30. However, it now will not be returning until at least Saturday, October 1.
The Disney Wish’s next cruise, which was scheduled to depart Port Canaveral on Friday, September 30, has been officially cancelled. As of now, it’s next sail date will be Monday, October 3.
Make sure to keep it here with MickeyBlog as we continue to monitor Hurricane Ian and its impacts on Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney World. To everyone in the storm’s path, please stay safe!
