WDW Transportation Announces Pause Beginning Tonight
As Walt Disney World Resort continues to prepare for Hurricane Ivan to come ashore, transportation around the resorts will officially cease operations tonight after the theme parks close. Bus transportation to and from Disney Springs will also stop after operating hours this evening.
For those with breakfast reservations tomorrow morning, Walt Disney World did announce “limited Minnie Van and Mears tax service” will be available in their update tonight.
Tomorrow and Thursday, all four theme parks will close out of caution due to Hurricane Ivan. Typhoon Lagoon, Winter Summerland Miniature Golf, Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Gold will also be closed during the same time period.

Guests at the resorts are able to stay, but those arriving tomorrow must be checked in prior to 3 p.m. in order to shelter-in-place at the resort in which they are booked.
Yesterday, Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser cancelled its departures for today as well as Thursday. Also, Guests staying at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the Treeehouse Villas (Disney’s Saratoga Springs), Copper Creek Cabins (Disney’s Wilderness Lodge), and the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort all closed to guests effective tomorrow through Friday.
Still, many decided to take advantage of low crowds tonight and attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which was previously sold out. Instead in the wake of this week’s weather news, Magic Kingdom released tickets early today for this evening’s festivities.
MickeyBloggers Greg and Elyssa headed over to Magic Kingdom this evening prior to the park’s closure for the party. Stay tuned for more information from there, including strom preparation.
