BREAKING NEWS: Disney Announces Closures and will Waive Change & Cancellation Fees for Hurricane Ian
Hurricane season had a late start this year but mother nature is surly making up for it! Hurricane Ian has its eyes set on Florida for Wednesday into Thursday.
Thankfully, Walt Disney World has great news for guests whose vacations would be impacted by Hurricane Ian.
Change & Cancellation Fees
“Due to potential weather impacts to guest travel plans, change and cancellation fees imposed by Disney will be waived for check-in dates of Monday, 9/26 – Monday, 10/3.” Disney states in an official announcement on the Disney Travel Agents website.
Most room only and vacation packages will be able to be modified online without having to call-in and dealing with lengthy hold times. Guests will be able to change travel dates or cancel their Disney Vacation without incurring any fees.
Typically, there are fees associated with changes and cancellations so close to travel dates:
- $50 change fee to any modification to a package within less than 30 days of travel.
- If guests need to cancel their Disney Vacation within 2-29 days of arrival, guests will lose their $200 deposit.
- If guests need to cancel their vacation within 1 day of arrival, the full package is non refundable.
This is a BIG DEAL for guests who are on the fence about their up coming Walt Disney World Vacation this week!
