Merriest Nites Officially Not Returning to Disneyland
In a flurry of details regarding this year’s holiday festivities at Disneyland yesterday, the resort also confirmed that one incredibly popular event will not be returning to Disneyland Park this year: Merriest Nites.
In its debut last year, the after hours event featured exclusive snacks, the park’s official holiday parade, and unique fireworks. The highlight of the special night though certainly shocked even the most die-hard Disneyland fans as the Muppets caroled down the street in a double-decker bus.
Yesterday, a Merriest Nites announcement was not included in the press for this year’s extensive line-up of holiday festivities at both Anaheim-based theme parks. Later, theme park reporter Scott Gustin confirmed that Disneyland was not simply holidng back for later on the Merriest Nites news.

Holiday events begin November 11th at Disneyland Park and DIsney California Adventure Park and will run through January 8th. Among the exciting traditional features, “it’s a small world” will receive its incredible holiday overlay as will “The Haunted Mansion.”
Disneyland Park will host the “Belive … in Holiday Magic” fireworks show as well as A Christmas Fantasy Parade during normal park hours. At Disney California Adventure, Disney Festival of the Holidays bursts with celebrations of the season from around the world, including “¡Viva Navidad!”
