BREAKING NEWS: Holiday Fun Returns To Disneyland Resort on November 11th
We’ve got some exciting news! Disneyland has officially unveiled their holiday plans for 2022 and the festivities will kick off on November 11, 2022 and will run until January 8, 2023.
This time of year at Disneyland is extra magical with holiday happenings everywhere you turn. Here’s a look at some of the awesome events and activities you’ll want to be on the lookout for!
The Holidays at Disneyland Theme Park
Highlights of this year’s Disneyland holiday celebration includes:
A Christmas Fantasy Parade:
Beloved Disney Characters join Santa Claus for a merry musical celebration down Main Street U.S.A. Other characters featured in the parade includes Chip ‘n Dale, Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Woody, Buzz and the Disney Princesses.
It is recommended that guests arrive early to find the best possible viewing spot for the parade. Best viewing spots are in front of “it’s a small world” and Matterhorn Bobsleds.
Holiday Décor:
During the holidays at Disneyland, you’ll find wintry delights around every turn. This includes Sleeping Beauty Castle glistening with a flurry of holiday lights and decor throughout all of the lands that are sure to enchant.
On Main Street U.S.A, you’ll stroll past storefronts, lampposts and rooftops festooned in festive wreaths and garlands. Having pride of place at the center of Town Square is also a towering tree trimmed with thousands of exquisite lights and ornaments.
Sleeping Beauty Castle is also transformed into a winter castle complete with lavish garlands. In the evening ethereal lighting creates the look of snow-capped turrets and glistening icicles.
“it’s a small world” Holiday:
Celebrate the splendor of the holiday season with a Yuletide take on the beloved Disneyland attraction. You’ll set sail along a wondrous wintry waterway that has been transformed with holiday decor. You’ll listen as costumed children sing the classic “It’s a Small World (After All)” song along with traditional holiday tunes.
Haunted Mansion Holiday
Pumpkin King Jack Skellington and crew have been busy giving the Haunted Mansion a Tim Burton-inspired makeover. You’ll experience thrilling sights and seasonal surprises. Be on the lookout for Sally, Oogie Boogie and the other friends of Halloween Town who are on hand to wish you “Season’s Screamings!”
Believe…in Holiday Magic Fireworks Spectacular:
You won’t want to miss this magnificent production culminating in an enchanted snowfall over various park locations. Taking this nighttime extravaganza to the next level is an illuminated kaleidoscope of 50,000 lights that transform the facades of Main Street USA, Sleeping Beauty Castle and more!
The Holidays at Disney California Adventure Park
You’ll find holiday cheer in every land of California Adventure including vintage holiday vistas along bustling Buena Vista street where you’ll find festive sights and friendly folk straight out of 1930’s Hollywood. Be on the lookout for the beautiful wreath at Carthay Circle along with the parks 50-foot tree.
Merry Car-istmas!
Celebrate the “haul”-idays at Cars Land, where the residents of Radiator Springs have decked the streets in seasonal a-tire. No parts have been spared during this custom motorcar makeover! Cruise on over to enjoy holiday happenings like Mater’s Jingle Jamboree and Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl.
World of Color – Season of Light
Watch as beloved moments from Disney and Pixar films are illuminated onto a towering wall of mist as hundreds of sky-high fountains dance in time to festive music!
Beloved Disney tales are woven into this special seasonal version of World of Color. You’ll see some of your favorite characters from Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, Fantasia, Frozen and Inside Out, World of Color. Celebrate the season with these stories of friendship, family and love to life.
A virtual queue will be in place for World of Color. We’ll provide you with additional details soon!
Disney Festival of Holidays – Returning November 11, 2022
Festival of the Holidays Entertainment
Guests will be able to take in the sights and sounds of the holidays including Christmas, Navidad, Hanukkah, Diwal, Kwanzaa and Three Kings Day! Entertainment offered during the holiday season feature diverse festivities along with beloved seasonal traditions.
Highlights Include:
- Mickey’s Happy Holidays- This spirited dance party featuring Mickey Mouse and pals along with the magically merry rhythms of the Holiday Toy Drummers
- Disney Character Sightings- Be on the lookout for a wide range of awesome characters who have come out to celebrate this season including Mirabel from the Disney animated film Encanto
- Holiday Toy Drummers – You’ll be tapping your toes to the rhythm of these iconic soldiers drumming up smiles wherever they go.
Festive Foods Marketplace – Returning November 11, 2022
Be sure to bring your appetites this holiday season. Disney California Adventure will be offering up spirited libations and a seasonal smorgasbord of multicultural and diverse cuisine!
Sip and Savor Pass
Sip and Savor passes will be back for for this year’s Festival of the Holidays. The pass providers 8 convenient entitlement tabs that you can redeem for select food and nonalcoholic beverages at participating Festive Foods Marketplace kiosks and dining locations. The passes are good from November 11, 2022 – January 8, 2023.
Disney ¡Viva Navidad!
Three Kings’ Day
Located in Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure, you can commemorate the close of the holiday season with this special celebration that pays homage to the 3 Wise Men. This includes traditional decor and photo opportunities.
Paradise Gardens will also host an even honoring the Epiphany (or 12th Day of Christmas) which is known in many areas of the world (including Central America, South America and Mexico) as El Día de los Reyes Magos
Guests visiting for Three King’s Day will have the chance to meet some beloved characters like Donald and the Three Caballeros as well as Mirabel from Encanto. Live performances from musical groups will also be on offer and Paradise Gardens will be decking the halls with colorful colorful papel picado banners and piñatas
Meet Santa Claus at the Disneyland Resort
It wouldn’t be the holidays without a visit from the man in red. Disneyland Resort is offering several opportunities for guests to mingle with Santa Claus. This includes:
- At Disneyland Park- Come mingle with Kringle! Enjoy merry moments, festive photos and bundles of fun when the jolly old elf himself stops by Critter Country at Disneyland Park!
- At Disney California Adventure – Redwood Creek Challenge Trail has been transformed into a holly, jolly, joy-filled playground complete with seasonal games and outdoor activities. Stop by Ahwahnee Camp Circle near the trail’s entrance to see Santa Claus, wave hello and snap some pics.
- At Disneyland Resort Hotels – Catch up with Santa when he touches down at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disneyland Hotel.
The Holidays at the Downtown Disney District
Take time to stroll through Disneyland’s incredible shopping, dining and entertainment district where trimmed holiday trees twinkle and shop windows are adorned with stunning displays.
