The Original Avatar is Back in Theaters and Audiences are Getting an Avatar 2 Sneak Peek
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog, you may have the news that the original Avatar is returning to theaters this Fall! Now, we’re hearing from those who have seen the film on the big screen this week that audiences are being treated to an Avatar: The Way of Water sneak peek.
According to reports, there’s a surprise at the end of the credits of the original film on re-release. Though the original film did not feature a post-credits scene, now there’s a new scene teasing Avatar: The Way of Water. Adding to the awesomeness, according to Disney, there are different scenes being revealed at different theaters!
According to a piece in the SF Gate the response to the surprise post-credit scenes has been incredibly positive.
The film has already been released in Korea and France and will be unveiled everywhere else (with the exception of China and Russia) starting this weekend.
The Avatar sequel will also be directed by James Cameron with many of the original stars returning including Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver. The sequel is produced by both Cameron and Jon Landau and was nominated for nine Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director.
The sequel Avatar: The Way of Water will arrive in theaters worldwide on December 16.
To whet audiences’ appetites, Disney/20th Century Studios will re-release Avatar in theaters on September 23. As for Avatar: The Way of Water, that arrives in theaters worldwide on December 16.
