Top 3 Vegan/Vegetarian Items at the 2022 Food and Wine Festival!
The Food and Wine Festival at Epcot is halfway through its 2022 run, and we’ve been busy tasting our way through each and every Festival dish Epcot has to offer.
With multiple tastings of our favorites under our belt, we have compiled a list of the top 3 food items each and every vegan, vegetarian, and plant-based eater should add to their list!
3- Guava Mousse on a Sugar Cookie
While the Food and Wine Festival features more than their fair share of vegan dishes, plant-based desserts aren’t as easy to find. The guava mousse on a sugar cookie is a great plant-based dessert that ticks many boxes!
First, it’s light and refreshing making it perfect for hot Florida days. Second, the mousse/sugar cookie combination supplies both a creamy consistency and crunch that make for a well balanced bite. And third, the refreshing flavors of guava really burst in your mouth!
2- Stone-Baked Moroccan Bread
We’ve had to wait a few minutes for this dish the three times we’ve had it so far…and that’s because the bread is made so freshly that we had to wait for it to come out of the oven! The piping hot bread joins a trio of Moroccan dips that vastly contrast, but are equal in deliciousness.
The hummus is creamy and fresh, but its the zhoug and chermoula that really make this dish a stand-out!
Fresh eggplant and spices ground together make up the tasty zhoug, while a flavorful herb combo of parsley, garlic, cilantro and other spices come together to create the chermoula. This one is so tasty, we had a hard time scoring it second!
1- French Fry Flight
Yes, this offering has both bacon and marshmallow cream in its description- but if you just ask, the incredible culinary team at Epcot can easily make this delicious dish vegetarian friendly.
Just let them know your dietary preferences, and the bacon crumbles and marshmallow cream will simply be left off your fry flight! The salt and vinegar fries are vegan already, but the BBQ and sweet potato ‘dessert’ fries are two fantastic options that we vegetarians and vegans don’t have to skip out on!
Honestly, the fry flight is BETTER vegetarian! The sweet potato fries don’t become soggy from all that marshmallow, and the true flavors of the potatoes and seasonings really POP!
