Descendants 4 Announced at D23!
Descendants 4 is confirmed to be in the works! Titled “The Pocketwatch,” the movie will follow new characters in the same universe as the previous three films. The news was officially announced during the Disney+ and Disney Channel’s panel at D23 on Saturday night. Production is expected to begin in 2023.
Who Will Star in the Film?
The only returning cast member is China Anne McClain, who plays Uma in Descendants 2 and Descendants 3. The daughter of Ursula, Uma boasts some incredible sea magic and spell casting abilities.
Also starting in the film will be Kylie Cantrall (Raven’s Home), who will play the daughter of Red, who is the daughter of the Queen of Hearts.
Dara Reneé (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) will play Chloe, the daughter of Cinderella.
What Else Do We Know?
We don’t know much about the plot, but we do know it will be heavily inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Red and Chloe are set to travel back in time using the White Rabbit’s pocketwatch to prevent a catastrophic event in Auradon. It won’t be easy… Uma has some unfinished business!
Kenny Ortega will be replaced by Jennifer Phang (The Flight Attendant, Foundation) as director of Descendants 4. Dan Frey and Russell Sommer (“Magic: The Gathering”) will write the script.
All three live-action movies, along with a spin-off series, “Descendants: Wicked World,” an animated special, “Descendants 2: The Royal Wedding,” and the live-action “Under the Sea: A Descendants Short Story” are available to stream on Disney+.
