VIDEO: First Trailer For ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Just Dropped
One of the upcoming shows heading to Disney+ that has us the most excited is Percy Jackson and the Olympians. We previously shared the news that Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri and Lea Sava Jeffries have been cast in the three main roles. The trio took to the stage at D23 this afternoon to give us a first look at the upcoming series.
We know that Percy Jackson will be a live-action series based on the best-selling Percy Jackson series from Rick Riordan. Let’s take a look at the trailer:
The series will follow a 12-year old demigod who is coming of age while coming to terms with his supernatural powers. Zeus accuses Jackson of stealing his lightning bolt. Joined by his friends, its up to Percy to find and restore order to Olympus. Disney has yet to announce an official opening date for Percy Jackson. They have just said “soon.” As soon as we’ve heard more we’ll keep you posted.
We do know that the pilot was written by Riordan and Jon Steinberg along with James Bobin. Steinberg and Dan Shotz are serving as executive producers along with Bobin, Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe, Anders Engström, Jet Wilkinson, and Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, and D.J. Goldberg.
The series is a 20th Television production and will debut on Disney+
