The 50th Anniversary Cinderella Castle Display Has Been Removed from World of Disney!
While everyone’s attention is focussed on the epic announcements coming out of the D23 Expo in Anaheim, a rather staggering occurrence has just taken place over at Disney Springs!
Can you tell what’s happened?
Well, MickeyBlog reporters were over at World of Disney in the Springs this morning, where we noticed a rather significant display piece had been removed from the 50th anniversary merchandise section of the store.
The giant Cinderella Castle statue is missing!
Yes, the 50th anniversary merchandise and signage is still present and correct, but anyone who has visited World of Disney in the past year will no doubt have stopped to admire the giant, majestic effigy of Cinderella Castle, which stood proudly amidst the collection.
As a reminder, here’s what the store’s display used to look like:
Now, the glorious statue has been removed, with just a projection of the castle in its place. How sad!
Sadly, the highest peak in World of Disney is now these stylish, Spirit Jersey-wearing mannequins. They’re still magical, and effusing that 50th anniversary flair, but they’re not quite the same as the castle’s iconic turrets!
According to the somewhat-sorrowful Cast Members, the castle has actually been relocated over to the brand-new Disney Store over at Orlando International Airport’s Terminal C. They’re all very excited over there and preparing for the store’s opening later this month, with the World of Disney Cinderella Castle proudly situated in the center of the shop!
Now, we don’t like to speak about it, but we do know that the 50th anniversary celebrations are set to draw to a close in March. But that doesn’t mean we were ready for the castle to be removed from Disney Springs!
Now, if anyone wants to go and gaze in admiration and adoration at the Cinderella Castle statue, you’ll need to book a ticket from Terminal C at MCO. Here’s a handy guide of which airlines will be flying in to and out of the terminal, for anyone seriously considering it.
We’re sorry to see the castle go from World of Disney at Disney Springs. But, will it stop us from regularly visiting the store to check out the latest merchandise offerings?
No, probably not!
