First Look at Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Coming in 2023
- There have been so many amazing announcements from the D23 Expo’s Marvel/Lucas Film Panel today! They started with new trailers for “Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi”, a new season of “The Mandolorian“, “Willow”, “Bad Batch”, and a handful of others. What a day in Anaheim!
We also got a first glimpse at the new Disney+ series, “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”, coming in 2023!
The new Star Wars series, starring Jude Law, is billed as a” 1980s coming of age series” following a group of children lost somewhere in the galaxy. In the Star Wars timeline, the series takes place after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
In the new photo we see Law in the foreground with a slight smirk, looking into the “eye” of one of 3 TT-8L/Y7 gatekeeper droids. We’ve seen these inquisitors before, outside Jabba’s palace in Return of the Jedi.
A crew of children is poised behind law on a desolate looking planet. Does this mean Law is about to appear at Jabba’s gates with the kid? Is he helping the Skeleton Crew of children or is he a villian? We will have to tune in to see!
“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” was originally announced in May 2022 with a production code name “Grammar Rodeo”. The original series comes from executive producers Jon Watts, Christopher Ford, Jon Favreau and Dan Filoni.
2023 is shaping up to be a pretty huge year for Disney+!
