Disneyland Flags at Half Mast for the Passing of Queen Elizabeth
It was a sad day for the world with the news that Queen Elizabeth had passed away at the age of 96. As people mourn around the globe, Disney is paying homage to the monarch.
Our MickeyBlogger Greg arrived at Disneyland Resort today for this weekend’s D23 Expo.
He noticed that as of this afternoon, the flags at the park are at half mast.
This includes the large flag that is used in the Flag Retreat ceremonies.
It is definitely a somber acknowledgement of today’s news.
Disney also took to social media to commemorate the Queen and former Disney CEO Bob Iger also shared his condolences. If you missed our earlier article on the Queen’s passing you can check it out here.
We will let you know of any additional measures that Disney might be taking to honor the queen at Disneyland, Walt Disney World and Disneyland Paris.
We don’t know as of yet whether special commemorations will be happening at the United Kingdom Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase.
We will let you know once we find out more.
We can confirm that Elizabeth’s son, and father to William and Harry, has taken over the monarchy and is now known as King Charles.
Our deepest sympathies go out to those impacted by the queen’s passing.
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for further Disney-related news and updates. We’ll be coming to you LIVE! from the theme parks each and every week!
