Further Updates on TRON Coaster Construction and Light & Power Co Refurb at Magic Kingdom
MickeyBlog spent the morning at Magic Kingdom and decided to drop by to see how things are progressing this week on the TRON Coaster.
Over the weekend we shared images of the concrete work being done to the crowds around the building.
Today it is more of the same.
However, now we are really seeing the grounds taking shape.
There are dividing walls that weave through the queuing area.
Just behind the barrier wall you can see the tunnel for the Walt Disney World Railroad.
The Railroad will return to the park once the work on the track area has been carried out.
The picture above shows all of the different layers to the coaster from the ground level ramps to the track and canopy soaring overhead.
These images also show groundwork for more structures that will appear on the grounds.
We suspect they’ll be used for signage, landscaping etc.
We love the way the curvature of these dividing walls mimics that of the canopies overhead.
As we previously mentioned here at MickeyBlog, work is currently being carried out to the Light & Power Co as well.
For those unfamiliar, the gift shop adjacent to Space Mountain and is near to the new TRON Coaster.
Walkways will no run along the side of the building.
With this in mind, Light & Power Co. is getting a bit of a refurb.
The work seems to be impacting the whole side of the building.
New siding and roofing is being put up.
It also looks like new entrances are being added and perhaps display windows.
The whole area has been a work in process for a while now.
The shop does remain open though with barrier walls being put up inside to hide the construction.
As of going to print, Disney has yet to announce an official opening date for the TRON attraction.
However, with D23 Expo happening over the weekend which will include a Disney Parks panel with Josh D’Amaro, we hope a date is revealed.
MickeyBlog will be in attendance at this weekends D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA.
We promise to share all of the details with you as and when they are revealed.
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for further Walt Disney World news and updates. We’ll be coming to you LIVE! from the theme parks each and every week.
