Construction Update: Grounds Around TRON Coaster Shaping Up
MickeyBlog spent our morning at the Magic Kingdom where we popped by Tomorrowland to see how construction is going on the TRON Coaster.
We climbed aboard the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover to give you a bird’s eye view at how things are looking on the construction site these days!
Most of the work to the coaster, canopy and adjoining building have been done for a while now.
However, we have seen lots of changes to the grounds around the attraction where several concrete walls have gone up.
Part of this is to shield the queue from the Tomorrowland Speedway.
Part of it is also to house the tunnel for the Walt Disney World Railroad which runs underneath the coaster.
We love how the waves of the canopies are repeated in the landscaping around the attraction.
Disney has yet to announce an opening date for TRON.
However, we do know that the lightcycle ride vehicles are being tested.
We also know that the Walt Disney World Railroad is currently training conductors!
This gives us hope that we may get an announcement soon regarding an opening timeline.
Maybe Josh D’Amaro will share some insights during his parks presentation at the D23 Expo which is happening in Anaheim this weekend.
