Summer Is Over and Wait Times and Crowds are Lower at Disney World
There’s a reason why we say that end of August/beginning of September is a great time to visit the Disney theme parks. Though not everyone can get away that time of year with school starting back up, if you can swing it, it’s worth it for low crowd levels and wait times!
Our MickeyBlogger was on the scene at the Magic Kingdom this morning and couldn’t believe how empty the theme park was compared to just last week!
As you can see, the walkway to get into Adventureland this morning had minimal crowds.
Along most of the walkways it was much of the same.
Even in Tomorrowland there were a few diners but the congestion in the plaza is gone!
The walk out of Tomorrowland and over to the castle was also empty.
The same can be said for the HUB area in front of the castle. This is normally one of the biggest high traffic areas in the park but not today!
Apart from a handful of guests posing for photos, the area in front of the castle was largely empty.
Early September typically boasts low crowds. With many kids having just returned to school, it is not an ideal time for everyone to plan a theme park visit but it does have its perks.
The lower crowd levels are also reflected in the wait times.
These screen shots were taken from the My Disney Experience app this morning.
There’s hardly any wait at all for attractions like the PeopleMover and the Haunted Mansion.
Even relatively popular attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean have stand-by lines of 10 minutes or under.
The mountains have some of the biggest lines of the day but at 25 minutes, even these are minimal to the 60 minutes+ that guests usually encounter during peak periods.
Lines to meet the princesses are a big higher than some of the other popular attractions but since they are newly returned to the parks, demand is high. We recommend that you line up to see them first thing in the morning to avoid large queues.
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for further Walt Disney World news and updates. We’ll be coming to you LIVE! from the theme parks each and every week.
