Firefighter Visiting Disney World on Vacation Saves Guest’s Life
An firefighter from upstate New York became a hero during his Walt Disney World family vacation after saving the life of a guest. Reports are coming in from various news sources in Westchester County that Paul “Pauly” Butcher was having dinner with his family at Disney World on Monday night when he witnessed a man having a heart attack.
According to a news report by WTEN, Bucher, immediately rushed to attend to the guest and determined at that time that the man was not breathing and had no pulse. According to News 12 Brooklyn, Bucher who is a firefighter in Poughkeepsie, began doing chest compressions as others at the restaurant called 911.
By the time and defibrillator was brought onto the scene, the patient’s pulse was already restored and according to reports he was breathing on his own. At that time Reedy Creek Fire Rescue were on the scene and took over.
Paul Bucher’s fellow firefighters took to Facebook yesterday to give a brief account about what happened signing off with the message “Great work, Pauly!”
Join us in giving Lt. Bucher a heartfelt thanks for going above and beyond during his Disney vacation!
