Disney Donates $300,000 To Local Food Banks in Anaheim and Orlando
Each year, Disney donates millions of pounds of food to local food banks to support people in the community that might be facing food insecurity. In addition, Disneyland and Walt Disney World have just announced that they will be giving donations to local community food banks to support families. These donations are expected to total over $300,000.

Starting with Walt Disney World, last week, Disney donated $100,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida (an organization the company has worked with for over 30 years.) This is in addition to the $500,000 Disney granted to the organization in honor of its 50th Anniversary celebration.
Disney World continues its commitment to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and in investing in the future via the Second Harvest Culinary Training Program. This program provides students with the necessary culinary skill to pursue a career in the industry. This free program received a $100,000 donation from Disney as well as non-slip shoes to every student in the program.
Over on the west cost, Disney announced that they would be giving $5,000 to the Community Action Partnership Orange County to support their OC Food Bank Program. Then, as a complete surprise Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock announced that they were presenting the OC Food Bank with a second check, this one for $100,000!
In addition, Disneyland Resort also donated $100,000 to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. This continues Disneyland’s decade long commitment which has also previously included donations from resort hotels and banquets as well as their Harvest Solutions Farm in Irvine, CA.
Since March of 2020, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products have donated nearly $20 million worth of food to hunger-relief organizations supporting communities around the globe. This equals roughly 2.1 million meals! Disney has also given a grant to Feeding America that will be distributed across 30food banks across the county. The grant provides enough funds to serve 500,000 kids and provide over 3,000,000 pounds of produce.
