Proof That Those End of August Disney World Crowds Are Some of the Best
Here at MickeyBlog and our sister agent MickeyTravels, a common question we get asked is “When are the least busy times of year to visit the theme parks?” Though the parks stay busy pretty much all year round, one of my favorite times to visit Disney World is the end of August. If you don’t mind braving the heat, this is a typically a nice, relaxing and uncrowded getaway.
By this time, schools in many states are back in session. This means that summer is over for a lot of families.
If school calendars don’t have an impact on your travel plans or you live in a district that starts school later; this can be a fantastic time to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth. Just check out these photos!
Our MickeyBlogger is at Hollywood Studios today and we have to say that for a Sunday afternoon you can see how uncharacteristically empty it is.
This even holds true for busy thoroughfares in Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!
Areas that are usually congested are now perfect for an afternoon stroll!
With the exception of Labor Day weekend. Early September crowds will be much of the same.
However, towards the end of September, crowds do pick up with the parks remaining consistently busy through Halloween.
According to our MickeyBloggers on the scene, the lack of crowds definitely made a welcome change with many of the headlining attractions having lines under 15 minutes.
Waits appeared much longer than they actually were on the My Disney Experience app.

Sometimes, when the parks seems relatively empty, line wait times can be inflated. If you have your heart set on an attraction, you can always pop by and judge for yourself!
