Job Fair Held In Central Florida
A Job Fair, hosted by Marriott Vacations Worldwide was held in Central Florida this week.
It comes as no surprise that the Hospitality industry has been short staffed since the Covid19 Pandemic.
Up for grabs were 150 jobs that needed to be filled in the Central Florida Area. These jobs ranged from Housekeeping, Guest Services, Food Services, Administration and more.
Marriott Vacations Worldwide is offering $16.25/hour for non-tipped hourly positions. All new hourly associates are also eligible for a $1,000 sign on bonus. Salaried management positions are also available in 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Even Walt Disney World is still considered to be short staffed in comparison to numbers from pre pandemic times.
Although Disney has come up with ways to take away some of the burden by implementing new tools for guests such as Mobile Ordering, there still seems to be issues that stem from a lack of staffing.
In one area where we suspect Disney is short staffed is in Customer Service.
There have been many days where guests are on hold for hours trying to get through to a Cast Member, whether on the phone or through the chat feature in the My Disney Experience App.
Personally, I use the My Disney Experience chat feature as a quick tool for questions.
Lately, each chat window I open is automatically closed by a Cast Member hours later without a response! Thus, the whole process starts over again.
What are your thoughts? Do you think Disney is still short staffed?
