Sword in the Stone: Back Making Memories in Fantasyland
The Sword in the Stone is back making memories in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom!
It was one of those little interactive elements that seemed so small and insignificant in the “before times”, but when it was gone, you realized how much you missed it!
What is The Sword in the Stone?
Remember the old movie The Sword in the Stone? It’s totally an underrated classic where a small average boy became the King of England by pulling a sword from a mystical stone, ordained by the heavens.
Sadly, this is the only reference to the movie in Walt Disney World, but what a great reference it is!
The stone is located in Fantasyland right beside Prince Charming’s Royal Carrousel.
The sword is gleaming from the top and there is a step behind it encouraging children to take a chance! Are you a child at heart? Go for it!!

We have seen the biggest, burliest men use all their strength to pull the sword, but alas, they were not destined to pull it.
But then… a small child who has a pure heart might be chosen by the sword!

Don’t worry, Disney doesn’t allow a pointy weapon to be pulled out completely and then used on their siblings, but it will pull up significantly! Get that camera ready, it might just be your child chosen!
Who doesn’t have pictures of themselves as a child at the famous Sword in the Stone in front of Prince Charming’s Royal Carrousel?

It’s a great memory to look back on the seriousness of the faces of children trying with all of their might to pull it free.
Well, now it’s back!
As the parks are coming back to “normal” this is just another great experience in the most magical place on Earth!
Speaking of Sword in the Stone…
This movie is amazing and it just never really got the love it deserved! Prestidigitonium! Disney should have a Merlin’s Playground!
Hockity pocketity, it could have oversized things to climb on from their adventures! Trees to climb like when they were squirrels, tunnels and weeds to hide in like when they were fish, etc.
And the songs of Merlin doing the spells should be playing! That tune has the perfect bounce for play! Another idea:
We have the Cheshire Cafe, but what about featuring a little Mad, Mad, MAD MADAM MIM! Gosh, we love her. There should be drinks called the Purple Dragon and cupcakes with surprise pop rocks in the middle, or something.
It’s been too long! Go turn on Disney+ and scroll through the classics!
