Full Steampunk Ahead: The Edison & Chapel Hats
Looking for something fun to do with your bestie or an interesting date night in Disney Springs?
Take a night off from the parks and go over to the Edison in Disney Springs for a good time that feels like anywhere but Disney!

The Edison is a bougie, edgy steampunk bar and restaurant that is filled with modern lines and bronze gears and turn of the 20th century items made new. I
t creates a very unique atmosphere that can only be described as cool.

Drinks
Just as cool as the vibe is the menu. The bar features handcrafted cocktails that are about as far from Applebee’s slushie pina coladas as you can get, which is great since they are very pricey.
We had The Edison and the Berry Smash.

The Edison $17
Described as Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Belle de Brillet Pear Brandy, Lemon Juice, with a Honey Cordial, The Edison is their take on an Old Fashioned.
Some may consider an Old Fashioned boring, but we believe that because it relies on quality bourbon, accurate pours and that it can’t hide behind mass sums of sugar that it is a great test of a bar. The Edison passes the test.

Berry Smash $18
The Berry Smash is described as Basil Hayden Bourbon, Hand-crafted Cinnamon Syrup, Honey, Lemon Juice, Blackberries, and Raspberries.
This refreshing drink was different sip to sip depending on what berry you got in your mouth at the time.

Food
Let’s be clear, The Edison is somewhere you go to for drinks, but you eat a little something to go with it. It is NOT a place you go to for the food.
While the food isn’t bad, nothing is really up to snuff to be worth the cost. The most famous item they have on the menu is the DB “Clothesline Candied Bacon”, which is 4 different pieces of bacon served strung up for a whopping $18! We like bacon but….dang.

The rest of the menu is all over the place from burgers, to short rib, to mahi mahi, to grilled cheese, all of which are insanely overpriced. $4 to add tomato to a grilled cheese? Pass.
Disney Springs is filled with great food options that you shouldn’t settle for “meh”. Get something small to nibble on while you enjoy your cocktails.
Gettin’ a Bit Naughty
Looking for a bit of a break from the most magical place on Earth? The Edison after 9:00 is adult only and features some very un-Disney-like entertainment.
Each night there are Gatsby-style performers gracing The Edison and burlesque dancers. Yes, burlesque dancers. Don’t get too excited, they keep all of their clothes solidly in place.

The difference between burlesque and stripping is for one, the obvious. Burlesque dancers don’t remove clothing. While both are sexual in nature, a stripper dancing is overtly provocative, burlesque is more coy and seductive.
Getting a Table
We definitely recommend getting a table reservation if you plan on visiting The Edison, especially for evening performances.
You can make a reservation in the My Disney Experience app. In our experiences, if you go during the day there is plenty of seating at the bar top that you don’t need a reservation for.
Plus a Look at Chapel Hats!
If you plan on going to The Edison for a fun evening, really go for it! Get all into the fun, steampunk vibe. For this, you’re going to need some accessories.

Chapel Hats is a small storefront just a stone’s throw from The Edison in Disney Springs that is often overlooked, but it is the home for some truly unique hats that can bring out anyone’s character.
We just popped in for a visit and so much just screamed steampunk night of fun.

Sure, they’re a little out there. Sure, it’s probably out of most people’s comfort zones, but so is seeing a burlesque show on Disney property.
The right hat paired with just a bit of brown leather really pull together a simple steampunk costume.

Think of it this way, you’re not afraid to wear Mickey and Minnie ears in the parks, why would a cool hat seem scary, right? Take a walk on the steampunk side at The Edison Disney Springs!
