Why The Main Street Electrical Parade Should Return to Magic Kingdom

While the Main Street Electrical Parade is wrapping up its 50th Anniversary run at Disneyland, Walt Disney World is celebrating a 50th Anniversary of its own.

An illuminated ’50 Years’ emblem has been added to the parade’s lead float to commemorate the celebration. 50th Anniversary banners have been hung around Walt Disney World and Cinderella Castle is currently bearing a large ’50’ emblem of her own.

With such a huge anniversary in common, it only makes sense for the Main Street Electrical Parade to return to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World! Both the Parade and WDW Resort as a whole have already received ample ’50th anniversary’ treatments, making the Parade’s return seem not only perfectly timed…but almost inevitable.

When the Electrical Parade merchandise started popping up around WDW was when the similarities really became apparent. Seeing ’50th anniversary’ apparel and merchandise hanging in the same stores is not the type of easy marketing Disney would usually miss. 

Now that the Electrical Parade’s official final march in Disneyland has been announced, it would be so, so fitting for the Parade to return to Magic Kingdom to help close out the remainder of both its own, and Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations!
