Something’s Missing at Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.!
About a week ago, we reported that Tomorrowland Light & Power Co, the merchandise store located next to Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom, had closed temporarily.
With work swiftly moving forward on the neighboring TRON: Lightcycle Power Run coaster, it is believed that the store has closed as construction draws nearer.
Today, while passing through Tomorrowland, MickeyBloggers noticed that something rather significant was amiss on the store’s façade. Can you tell what it is?
As a hint, the below image is what the store used to look like:
It’s the cogs!
That’s right, those huge “Hidden Mickey”-esque cogs that once stood proud and bold over the store’s clock face have now been removed.
As we mentioned in our post last week, some fans are speculating that the store may be remodeled or refurbished to incorporate the design of the upcoming Tron coaster.
While we can’t say anything for sure, it is peculiar that the iconic cogs have been removed.
As you can see from the photos, construction walls are in place around a portion of this corner of Tomorrowland, and various other smaller remodeling and refurbishment works have been underway in the area.
If you’d like to see where the construction on the Tron coaster is currently at, you can check out our most recent photo update on the area here. It’s all very exciting!
While we cannot wait for the opening of the highly-anticipated Tron coaster, we also can’t wait to have Tomorrowland back to being its usual shiny, futuristic self! Whether or not we’ll see the Tomorrowland Light & Power cogs return remains to be seen, but stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com for all the latest news as we hear it!
