Yes, Territory Lounge’s ‘Cauldron Cake’ is as Delicious as it Looks 😍
I recently made a visit to chocolate paradise, and I’m letting you in on how you too can enjoy the cake that I haven’t stopped dreaming about!
The secluded- and often bypassed- Territory Lounge at Wilderness Lodge offers the expected cocktails, drinks, and lounge-style plates we’ve come to expect from a Disney Resort…but it’s the dessert menu that caught me by sweet surprise on my latest visit!
The flourless chocolate Cauldron Cake gets its name from the adorable metal cauldron it’s serve in…but it’s the warm chocolate cake topped with rich, thick ganache/frosting that’s got me excited. On first look, it appears that the middle of the cake is undercooked, but that couldn’t be less true. A layer of ganache is revealed after you first dig your spoon into this warm decadence!
The Cauldron Cake is deceptively deep!
The cake itself is very, very rich and really texturally benefits from the layer of ganache. I also added two scoops of vanilla ice cream onto my Cauldron Cake order (it is not included) and I couldn’t recommend the addition more wholeheartedly!
While a nearly $7 charge for two unassuming scoops of vanilla is pricey, the cauldron cake itself gets taken from a 9 to a 1,000 when the cold ice cream is added into the mix! The cake is so rich and so decadent that it would have been hard to get through without the cold ice cream providing that wonderful contrast.
The cauldron cake is sharable without the ice cream, but once you add that double scoop on the side, you’re most certainly going to want to grab a buddy to enjoy this with! So, skip dessert next time you’re at Wilderness Lodge and make a beeline to Territory Lounge for the Cauldron Cake- it’s worth it!
